History of the Charlotte Office
The Charlotte office got its start in 1978, about the time that self-funding of medical plans was becoming an alternative to traditional health insurance and HMOs.
Two former Lincoln National employees started an employee benefits consulting firm called Fringe Benefit Review, which evolved into a third-party administrator (TPA) and later became one of the major competitors for self-funded business in the Southeast.
In 1984, Fringe Benefit Review opened an office in High Point, N.C., to provide TPA services to a large nationally known trucking company. When the North Carolina League of Municipalities came on board as a client in 1986, a third office opened in Raleigh, N.C., to service its Municipal Insurance Trust.
Fringe Benefit Review is one of CoreSource’s founding organizations. After a series of moves throughout its 30-year history, the Charlotte office relocated to 5200 77 Center Drive in March 2006.
