CoreSource is one of the nation’s largest third-party administrators (TPAs), recognized for delivering integrated, customized health benefit solutions with local, personalized service from nine regional offices across the country.
With cutting-edge products and services that smaller TPAs can’t match, CoreSource has a proven track record of significantly lowering the healthcare spend for self-funded employers.
Today, CoreSource administers benefits for more than 800 self-funded employers across the United States. In 2009, we processed approximately $3 billion in claims for some 1.1 million plan members.
CoreSource History
CoreSource has its roots in a consortium of local and regional TPAs acquired by Lincoln National Insurance in the 1980s. Lincoln National later sold its TPA division to private investors, which merged the TPAs and named the new organization CoreSource.
When Trustmark purchased CoreSource in 1997, we gained the capital and resources of a financially sound national mutual insurance company, allowing us to provide robust cost-containment strategies and fill gaps that often exist in self-funded plans.
CoreSource Growth
After becoming an independently operating subsidiary of Trustmark, CoreSource acquired several regional TPAs, including Corporate Benefit Solutions (CBS), Little Rock, Ark., FMH Benefit Services Inc., Kansas City, Kan., and NGS American Inc., Detroit, Mich.
