Cancer Management & Support

A cancer diagnosis is life-changing not only for the patient, but for everyone in his or her life as well. Adding to the stress and worry of a cancer diagnosis is the reality that treating cancer is expensive. In 2014, the direct medical costs for cancer in the U.S. were $87.8 billion.

Our cancer management and support team is dedicated to worrying about the details so the patient and his or her family can focus on what’s really important. Through our cancer management and support program, we assign an oncology nurse to provide patients with an individual care management plan. The nurse is a resource to caregivers and provides the patient and his or her family with support that helps them navigate the maze of providers and appointments that are typical during cancer treatment.

This kind of support is not just good for cancer patients and their families, it’s also key in helping to control costs for members and employers alike by reducing detrimental and costly gaps in care. According to CoreSource’s total book of business* for the first three quarters of 2017, our clients enjoyed a total program ROI of 14.1 to 1.
